Kenneth Brown brings over 27 years of restaurant experience to the table and Vicky Brown brings over 25 years of business experience to the venture. They have combined their talents to bring Savannah some great Southern cuisine. In business since 2009, it offers great Southern cooking that you would get at gramdma’s house on Sunday. The menu includes oxtails, fried chicken, baked chicken, smothered pork chops, hamburger steak, and BBQ ribs. Some of the vegetables include collard greens, lima beans, mac & cheese, and candied yams. Most items on the menu are prepared with secret family recipes handed down through the generations. The restaurant offers off-site catering, private parties, banquet facilities and reservations for large groups.

People often ask what makes SEED an eco friendly bar. We’ve tried to be as eco friendly as possible from the very beginning, making sure everything from our water usage to lighting and materials has the environment in mind. During our design and construction process, we decided to use bamboo for our bar tops, low VOC paints, cork flooring and reclaimed steel. Our bathroom doors and cocktail tables are made from the wood of an old barn in Statesboro. Even the cushions that line our seating areas are made with recycled materials. Upon opening, we decided it was important to have a no smoking environment so our patrons and staff can breathe clean air. For our smoking clientele, we have receptacles outside of the bar as a reminder that cigarette butts are litter too. Many of our beers, liquors and wines are organic and use sustainable practices in their manufacturing, packaging and shipping. Since we’re in downtown Savannah, having to-go cups is a must. Ours are made from corn and are 100% compostable. All our paper products are made from recycled content. Stop by sometime, enjoy an organic cocktail and check out our approach to green design and living.
